CONFERENCE
“TEHNOSÜSTEEMID”
19.03.2024
Konverentsi “Tehnosüsteemid” keskendub läbi hoone eluea tuleohutuse erinevatele aspektidele.
Konverentsipäev on jagatud kolmeks osaks:
seadusandluse uued tuuled;
projekteerimine materjali põhiselt;
tuleohutus praktikas.
Tuleohutust õpetatakse ülikoolis üsna pinnapealselt, kuid just siin on sul võimalus viia ennast sellel alal kurssi. Märgates hoonete ohukohti kiiremin ja paremini, arened seeläbi tulevikus hinnatumaks inseneriks. Saad kasulikke nippe oma ala parimatelt!
Esitluste juures on eesti- ja inglisekeelne sünkroontõlge.

ESINEJAD
Aleksandr Skoromnõh
Inspector of the Safety Supervision Bureau of the Estonian Rescue Board
We cannot talk about fire safety without involving the Estonian Rescue Board.
Inspector Aleksandr Skoromnõh from the Safety Supervision Bureau of the Estonian Rescue Board will tell us about some statistics related to fire safety.
However, his presentation, named “Safety Supervision”, mainly focuses on highlighting the main mistakes when applying for building permits, such as problems with fire safety installations, fire compartmentalisation, markings, and so on.
Katrin Nele Mäger
TalTech timber structures Early Stage Researcher
In recent years, there has been a lot of talk in the media about CO2 quotas and the European Union's climate goals. Construction also aims at a more environmentally friendly construction, for example by replacing concrete with wood. However, this, in turn, leads to various challenges in the fire safety of timber buildings, because timber is still a combustible material.
“Fire resistance of timber buildings - challenges and solutions”.
Mari Tikan
Advisor to the Rescue and Crisis Management Policy department of the Ministry of the Interior
"How a Problem Becomes a Solution and a Solution Becomes a Normality".
How issues arising from energy efficiency have affected fire safety? What lessons can be learned from them?
How new knowledge can be used to create new norms?
For example, from the perspective of energy efficiency, PIR/PUR insulation materials should be used, but from the perspective of fire safety, mineral wool should be used.
How to find the "red line" - where and what is allowed?
Alar Just
Fire saftey expert of timber structures and expert of Eurocode fire safety part
TalTech lecturer and one of the writers of the fire safety part in Eurocode 5, Alar Just, will be presenting on a topic “Updates in European design code Eurocode 5-1-2”.
The presentation will cover the most updated part of Eurocode which is the behavior of timber as material in a fire situation and results of scientific researches that have been added to the new Eurocode.
Siyimane Mohaine
Expert of French fire testing center CERIB
In her presentation “Concrete structures under fire - Between research and standardization”, she focuses on the behavior of concrete structures in fire and the updates of Eurocode 2-1-2 (fire saftey part).
Ivar Talvik
Lecturer and associate professor of steel structures at TalTech
Rait Pukk
Fire safety expert from Fireplan
He will be discussing the features of Keskkonnamaja as well as the most important principles and solutions for ensuring fire safety in his presentation: “Fire safety challenges and solutions of large-scale timber buildings using the example of Keskkonnamaja”.
Those interested, can learn more about the works submitted to the architectural competition for Keskkonnamaja here and about the winning project here.
Markku Karjalainen
Timber high-rise buildings expert from Tampere University
“Fire safety codes and solutions in Finnish multi-story timber-frame buildings”
The presentstion will discuss the development of fire safety legislation for Finnish timber-framed buildings throughout history and the solutions developed. Changes in fire safety requirements will be addressed as the stories of buildings increase over time and uses are added.
